We provide a wide range of fire evacuation, management and training services. These vary from providing an evacuation scheme for your building or business, through to group, or individual, fire safety training. All in accordance with the Fire Safety & Evacuation of Buildings Regulations 2006.
  • Fire evacuation schemes

    This service encompasses the planning of a draft Evacuation Scheme through to a fully approved Scheme, in compliance with the Fire Safety & Evacuations of Buildings Regulations 2006. Our Schemes also cater for Civil Defence & Bomb Threat Procedures.

    On approval of each Fire and Evacuation Building Scheme we will provide:

    • A notice of scheme approval (by Fire and Emergency NZ) to the building owner/manager
    • Installation of Emergency Procedure Notices
    • Emergency Procedure Manual
    • An Evacuation Board
    • Register of Persons with Disabilities
    • List of Building Wardens
    • An online database of Building Wardens and previous Trial Evacuations
    • Warden identification/and other building fire safety equipment
    • Training for wardens on evacuation procedures/Warden duties/use of fire-fighting equipment (Earthquake/Bomb Threat Procedures are also covered)
    • Trial Evacuations in consultation with FENZ
    • A Report of the Trial Evacuation for the building owner/property manager/occupiers
  • Trial evacuations

    Trial Evacuations are required to be held every 6 months in accordance with the Fire Safety & Evacuation of Buildings Regulations 2006.

    Trial Evacuations comprise of:

    Booking time and day with Fire and Emergency NZ and the Chief Warden of the building

    • Our fire safety consultant sounds the alarms to start the evacuation process
    • Building is evacuated in accordance to the building Emergency Procedures
    • Our fire safety consultant oversees the evacuation to ensure Wardens duties are carried out
    • Our fire safety consultant times the Trial Evacuation (a FENZ requirement)
    • Following the Trial Evacuation, the Building Wardens attend a debrief meeting with our fire safety consultant
    • A performance report on the trial is sent to the building owner/property manager, and the building occupants

     

    While on site we may also:

    • Run a Trial Evacuation with the fire alarm provider to perform a full systems check if required
    • Confirm Warrant of Fitness is installed and is current
    • Confirm Lift Certification
  • Training courses

    FSN offers various training courses for workplaces of all sizes. These courses can be tailored to suit individual workplace situations, and are delivered using current technology and environmentally safe practical techniques and equipment.

    Fire Warden Training

    Fire Warden training includes responsibilities of the Chief Warden, Deputy Chief Warden, and Area/Search Warden, and consists of floor clearance and reporting procedures, action to be taken if you discover a fire, what to do if the alarms are activated, assisting persons with a disability, plus more.

    Fire Extinguisher Training
